Shannon Csencsics, Guidance Counselor
Posted March 24, 2010
Coming from a family of helping professionals, Shannon Csencsics was inspired to follow in her relatives’ footsteps. Their values of caring, empathy, and helping others allowed her to develop an interest in the counseling field. Through past employment positions and college, she was able to learn that working with children and adolescents in the school environment was the career meant for her. Her passion for counseling can be seen in many aspects of the school. She provides support to individual students, small groups, and in the classrooms conducting guidance activities. She assists students with academic, emotional, social, and behavioral issues. With our upper grades, she also works with students on building their high school portfolios. The portfolios allow her to provide support and prepare students for their high school search. She is continually researching scholarships and different types of high schools. She also attends high school fairs to meet admission representatives and collect information to bring back to the high school library.
