The mission of the Green Apple Kids Program at FLACS is “to provide opportunities for continuous, child-centered, enriched learning that promotes environmental consciousness through cultivating lifelong, positive attitudes and behaviors toward the natural world.” The education of the youngest members of our community today about nutrition and environmental preservation will bring about healthier nutritional choices and environmentally conscious lifestyles in the future.
The Green Apple Kids Program at FLACS:
- Educates students about nutrition, healthy eating, and the physical and emotional benefits of daily exercise,
- Develops a school-wide recycling program initiated by students, and
- Promotes environmental consciousness
There are three specific units of study:
- Health and Body
- Waste Less/ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot and
- The Animals Around Us.
The Green Apple Kids Program is made available to students enrolled in the after-school program.
