The FLACS Board of Trustees meets throughout the school year. All FLACS Board meetings are open to the public in accordance with the NYS open meeting law. Any parent or other member of the community is welcome to attend these meetings, however, there is no designated time for public comment. Board Meetings for the 2023-2024 school year can be found on our school calendar. 

Under NYS law, all pedagogical and non-pedagogical personnel are mandated reporters, as such, they are legally obligated to report any suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to the New York State Office of Children and Family Services Child Protective Services. The hotline for reporting such instances is 1-800-342-3720. The website is OCFS website: http://ocfs.ny.gov/main/cps/

In accordance with State Education Law 2-d, when a third-party vendor’s databases have been breached, they are mandated to inform us and in turn, the families, staff, and students affected by the breach. As such, this notice is to inform you that we have been notified by Illuminate Education, an educational software company that owns vendors/programs that were previously used in Family Life Academy Charter Schools up until 2018, that there was a breach of their databases.
