Family Life Academy Charter Schools (FLACS) is proud to celebrate a historic milestone: the graduation of the Class of 2026, the first graduating class in the network's history.
This pioneering group of 79 seniors has set a remarkable standard for future generations, achieving a 100% college acceptance rate and earning more than $2.5 million in scholarships and grants. Their success reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and the collective support of families, educators, and community partners who have championed their journey.
As FLACS celebrates 25 years of serving the South Bronx, the graduation of its inaugural high school class marks the realization of a vision to provide students with a seamless pathway from kindergarten through college and career readiness.
The accomplishments of the Class of 2026 are extraordinary:
- 79 graduates
- 100% accepted to at least one college or university
- More than $2.5 million in scholarships and grants awarded
- 67% first-generation college students
- Students accepted to institutions including Cornell University, New York University, Howard University, Rutgers University, Hamilton College, Hofstra University, Stony Brook University, and many others
The Class of 2026 includes scholars whose achievements have earned prestigious merit scholarships and national recognition. Valedictorian received nearly $100,000 in scholarship funding, including a Cornell University Merit Scholarship. Salutatorian earned a highly competitive QuestBridge Scholarship to attend Hamilton College. Students across the graduating class have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, resilience, and a commitment to serving their communities.
The graduation ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Chainbreakers Award, recognizing a student who exemplifies perseverance, leadership, and the determination to overcome barriers in pursuit of success.
"This first graduating class represents the promise of what is possible when students are supported, challenged, and empowered to achieve their goals," said FLACS leadership. "Their accomplishments are not only a reflection of their hard work but also a testament to the strength and resilience of the South Bronx community."
