Twenty-five years ago today, Family Life Academy Charter Schools opened its doors in the Bronx with a simple but powerful belief: that every student, regardless of circumstance, deserves an education rooted in excellence, dignity, and community.
That belief became a movement. What started as one school has grown into a network of five campuses serving nearly 1,850 students in grades K-12, backed by roughly 325 dedicated staff members who show up every day for our students and families.
Along the way, FLACS has stayed true to its founding partnership with the Latino Pastoral Action Center and the parents who help lead our schools, creating the conditions for students to excel academically, take ownership of their learning, and affirm their values in the classroom and beyond.
Twenty-five years in, we're not just looking back. We're looking at what's next: new opportunities, new investments in our students, and a renewed commitment to the community that built us.
